Orientation on Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation in Triton College




Social Work for Development (SWD) in association with Social Work Department of Triton College has successfully organized one-day orientation program on Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation in September 4, 2011 at Tinkune, Kathmandu. The main objectives of the orientation program are to introduce principles and methods of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for nonviolent social change, to promote program on nonviolence and to produce wall comics on the issues of Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation, peace and development. 


The program was coordinated by Mr. Saurav Kiran Shrestha (President, SWD). And, facilitated Mr. Prem Raj Upreti and Ms. Anuja Sapkota.  The orientation was given to the BASW (Bachelor of Arts in Social Work) students. Total 21 students have actively participated in the program. 

 
 







Wall Comic Exhibition

A Wall Comic Exhibition and Certification Distribution program was held in Classic College International, today. During the program Vice-Principal Gopal Budhathoki has launched the Collection Book "Comics for Peace and Development" The program was observed by Dr. Govind B. Khattri, Krishna Thapa, Saurav Kiran Shrestha, Prem R. Upreti, Shanti Sapkota (Founder member SWD),  Anuja Sapkota, and Adesh Gautam.  The program was conducted by Shiva M. Risal. 


 
Total 23 wall comics prepared by BSW students during the workshop, "Orientation Program on Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation and Wall Comic Development Workshop", was displayed in the program. The workshop was organized in June 13-15, 2011 at Classic College. Mr. Saurav Kiran Shrestha was the trainer for the Wall Comic Development Workshop.

Orientation on Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation



Social Work for Development (SWD) in association with Social Work Department of Classic College for Higher Studies has successfully organized one-day orientation program on Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation in June 13, 2011 at Gausala, Kathmandu. The main objectives of the orientation program are to introduce principles and methods of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for nonviolent social change, to promote program on nonviolence and to produce wallcomics on the issues of Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation, peace and development.
 
During the program following topics were covered:  What is Violence? What is Nonviolence?, Myths and Facts about Nonviolence;  Conflict Analysis & Conflict Management; Historical Examples of Nonviolence;  Kingian Nonviolence;  Dr. King's Principles of Nonviolence;  Dr. King's Steps of Nonviolence;
The program was facilitated by Mr. Saurav Kiran Shrestha (President, SWD), Mr. Prem Raj Upreti and Ms. Anuja Sapkota.  The orientation was given to the BASW (Bachelor of Arts in Social Work) students. Total 25 students have actively participated in the program.  The program was observed by Ms. Subala Gurung (Vice-President, SWD), Ms. Shanti, Ms. Rita Shrestha and Dr. Govind B. Khattri (Principal of Classic College International).

Workshop on Wallcomic production based on the issue of Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation, peace and development was conducted on June 14-15, 2011. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Saurav Kiran Shrestha.
